Today is a great day to be you!
Our wonderful RAFT (Rangeview Fathering Tribe) organises and runs some amazing
activities and events over the year for our school community.
From the famous annual camp out, to board game days, LEGO Master days, trivia events, bike rides, movie nights - along with supporting our Parents & Friends Committee with running the BBQs at election days - they provide a whole heap of fun and enjoyment, as well as connection for dads and father figures across our school.
We are seeking the involvement of a few more dads in our school community to support the running of this group. Our current RAFT leaders are doing an incredible job, however their children are now in the older year levels, so we are looking to create a bit of a 'succession plan' to ensure its success moving forward into future years.
We would love to sit down and have a quick chat with anyone who might be interested in supporting the school in this role. Please contact me at liam.sommers@education.vic.gov.au if you would like to find out a bit more information and have a chat about what this awesome group provides for our school community - it's a very exciting thing to be part of!
Our annual RRRR, Resilience and eSmart Superhero Day is now only a week away - we will celebrate this on the last day of term - Friday 4th July.
We hope you've all been able to find some amazing outfits. If you and your child are struggling to find anything suitable, please contact the school as we may be able to help.
The day will kick off with a whole school assembly at 9:15am, which will include a range of items such as performances from the senior choir, rock band and Kelly Sports dance club.
Students will take part in buddy grade activities and contribute to a new whole school 'superhero' display.
We are really excited to wrap up the term in such a super way!
A final reminder that the term 2 working bee will be held this coming Sunday 29th June from 2:00pm-5:00pm. We would love as much help as we can to get the school grounds back into perfect condition.
We will fire up the bbq to put on a sausage sizzle for our volunteers, along with free icy poles for the kids! Please remember that this is not a drop and go event. Parents must be present with any students who are onsite.
Last week, our Student Voice Captains, Jae and Tiana, attended the Whitehorse City Council buildings to be part of the 'Junior Voicenator' program. The council launched this program earlier this year to provide an opportunity for local primary school student leaders to provide their ideas and input into some council decisions, as well as learn about the role of local government.
Jae and Tiana did a fantastic job speaking up during the meeting, sharing their ideas in discussions around items such as local festivals and the types of attractions they would like to see at these events. They worked with student leaders from about ten other primary schools and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They will have further sessions at the council in term 3 and term 4.
Anglicare Victoria is desperately seeking foster carers to help fill the gaps for emergency, respite and longer term care situations within our local community. Children in this community need you. Help their story shine brighter.
Learn how you can make a difference by attending either of the remaining Anglicare online information sessions:
Carers come from all walks of life and can be single, married, older, younger, with our without kids. You can work full-time, part time or be at home. Carers receive comprehensive training, 24 hour support and financial reimbursement.
