Principal's Report
Flexible. Resilient. Positive. 2025
What a big few weeks we have had as we approach the end of the Winter term! Level 6 have had a series of puberty sessions with Sexual Health Victoria, our mathematicians have participated in the Math Olympiad, students competed at Regional Cross Country, we have had two of our 5/6 Winter Interschool Sports Days, Production rehearsals have continued and costumes and props are coming together, Production tickets went on sale, each of our levels of teachers have had a planning day together to prepare for Term 3, our Lego club and Coding club have met, bookings have opened for Parent-Teacher Conferences, our P&F together with the Junior School Council ran a Comfy Clothes and Cupcakes Day, and today our reports will be available through the compass portal.
Next week we will end the term with a Resilience /Superhero Day on Friday which starts with a whole school assembly.
The student progress reports will be available for parents to access on COMPASS at the end of today. Learning at Rangeview follows the Victorian Curriculum and we assess against the Standards. This provides our school with a framework and a curriculum content for both knowledge and skills. Your child's student report contains information about discipline based learning in English, Mathematics, Inquiry Topics, German, Art, Music and Physical Education. In 2025, all students also have a specialist session in Digital Technology and Mathematics. Students are learning the General Capabilities of Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethics, Intercultural Learning, and Personal and Social Capabilities. These are developed across the learning areas. We hope these reports provide an outline of the progress your child has made this semester and we encourage you to discuss this report with your child in a way that is meaningful to them to encourage and motivate their continued academic, social and emotional development.
On Monday and Wednesday of next week, we will be holding our Foundation Parent / Teacher interviews and our Level 1 - 6 Student Led Conferences. We encourage you to book a time - through COMPASS - to meet with your child's teacher(s) on one of these days. Please see the Teaching and Learning page of this newsletter for more details.
We have one planned curriculum day for Term 3 – Wednesday 13th August. We are co-hosting this day with the staff from Auburn South Primary School and our teaching staff will be working with Peter Liljedahl in furthering our implementation of his Building Thinking Classrooms model. We are very excited to be having a full day with Peter and are looking forward to hearing more from him in person on the implementation of his model.
Last Friday our P&F together with the JSC ran a wonderful cosy day for our whole school – Cupcakes and Comfy Clothes Day! It was wonderful to see all the oodies and trackies at school and the classes all enjoyed munching on a cupcake while they watched a movie to end the week.
Funding for this day will go towards P&F Projects such as the new Chicken Coop and also JSC projects such as speakers for the PA on the oval.
The school’s website has been updated and refined with new information, new images and a general simplification. We encourage you to take a look!

We are holding out Term 2 Working Bee on Sunday 29th (this Sunday) from 2pm. If you have any time please come down and help out for a few hours. We will have a sausage sizzle to thank our hungry helpers.
The last day of school will be Friday 4th July and we have a 2.30pm finish time. This day is our Resilience and eSmart Superhero Day and we encourage students to come in a Superhero costume - Marvel, DC or their own design. Please see the Wellbeing and Engagement page of this Newsletter for more information.
We wish all of our families a safe and happy school holiday period and we look forward to more adventures and learning in Term 3.
