'Together Everyone Achieves More'

End of Term 2 Reflections

As we wrap up Term 2, it’s a wonderful time to pause and reflect on all that we’ve achieved together. It has been a term full of learning, growth, and meaningful moments. Each day has been shaped by the efforts of our students, staff, and families, working side by side to support and uplift one another.

Some of our important events this term to reflect on:

  • ANZAC Day March
  • GRIP Leaderships Day
  • Sale Rural Cluster Cross Country
  • Year 6 Transition Days
  • Melbourne Principal Conference
  • Sale Rural Cluster Athletics Carnival
  • Reconciliation Assembly Excursion
  • Art Incursions and Excursion to Gippsland Art Gallery
  • Welcoming new team members to Cowwarr Primary School

A big part of what has made this term so special is the strong sense of connection we’ve continued to build, within the classroom, across the school, and in our wider community. These connections remind us of the importance of kindness, understanding, and showing respect in all that we do. As we looked back on our last day of school, students shared some of their favourite highlights; spending time with friends, making new ones, playing, athletics, and transition days. Each reflection spoke to the strong sense of connection that has been at the heart of our term together.

We are so proud of the progress our students have made, not just in their learning, but in how they treat one another, solve problems, and contribute to a positive and inclusive environment.

Reports

A great deal of thought and care goes into each report, as we take pride in knowing our students both personally and academically. These reports reflect not only student progress but also the strong relationships and understanding our staff build with each child.

With the introduction of the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, you may notice some small changes in your child’s report. One of the main differences is in how Mathematics is reported. Rather than being shown under separate strands, Mathematics now appears as one overall subject. As a result of this change, the growth progression is not shown in this semester’s report but will be visible again in the end of year report.

On the last day of school, students took their semester reports home. Reports are now live on Compass for you to view. We’ll be organising parent-teacher interviews early next term to chat about the reports, share learning progress, and set some fresh goals together.

Looking ahead to Term 3

Wood Raffle:

We are so grateful for the support our families continue to show through our school fundraising efforts. In the final week of term, students brought home raffle tickets for our Wood Raffle, a fantastic fundraising opportunity.

A heartfelt thank you to the Edwards family for their incredibly kind and generous donation of the wood prize. It’s acts of kindness like this that remind us just how lucky we are to have such a thoughtful and supportive school community.

All funds raised in 2025 will go directly towards refurbishing our school playground – an exciting project for all our students. Let’s get behind this raffle and sell those tickets!

George Ivanoff visit:

The first day back at school, Cowwarr students have a special guest presenter visiting the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for our young writers to be inspired by a real-life author. Mr. Ivanoff will be sharing his writing journey and some of his published work in a presentation to our students.

Gumboot-a-thon:

We are excited for this year's Gumboot-a-thon which will go towards supporting another fabulous community cause.

A Better Life for Foster Kids is a Gippsland-based charity that supports children and carers in the out-of-home-care system.

The founder, Heather Baird, grew up in foster care and regularly speaks to groups and organisations to raise awareness of the issues facing children and carers in the care system. We are PROUD to be supporting this important cause for our 2025 Gumboot-a-thon Fundraiser.

Thank you for another amazing term!

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and involvement. We hope the holidays bring a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great term ahead.
