Diocesan Athletics

On Wednesday 5th August, St Xavier's had a team of 46 athletes travel to Tamworth for the ACS Athletics Carnival.

There were some outstanding results on the day. Special mention to the following:

• Senior Girls Relay Team (Elodie Warren, Georgina Grimm, Eloise Launders and Millie Lyle) broke the Diocesan Record with a time of 58.52sec.
• Junior Girl Runner-up: Reeva Ceeney (St Xavier’s Gunnedah)
• 11 years Boy Runner-up: Chase Berry (St Xavier’s Gunnedah)
• 11 years Girl Champion: Millie Lyle (St Xavier’s Gunnedah)
• 12/13 years Girl Runner-up: Elodie Warren (St Xavier’s Gunnedah)

Congratulations to the team of 24 St Xavier's students who have now qualified to join the Diocesan Team of 95 competitiors at the Polding Trials in Glendale on 11th September.

Todd Woodbridge Cup

On Tuesday, 11th August, St Xavier’s sent five teams of Year 3 and 4 students to compete in the Todd Woodbridge Cup Tennis Tournament here in Gunnedah.

Our teams played in a round-robin competition throughout the day, followed by finals. All players demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, teamwork, and grit, representing St Xavier’s with great pride.

A special congratulations to Team 2 and Team 1 for advancing to the semi-finals, and an extra shout-out to Team 1 for winning the entire tournament! Team 1 will now progress to the next round of competition in Tamworth.

Team 1 members are: Charli Scott, Hope Welsh, Faith Welsh, Reeva Ceeney, Frank Plevey, Jake Gurney, Charlie Keynes, Jonty Nichols and Ben Martin.

Finally, a big thank you to Miss Martin and Miss Cross for supporting and accompanying our players on the day.
