Debating
This week our Year 6 debaters competed in Round 2 of the Armidale Diocesan Debating Competition. Both teams debated the topic that we should replace all exams with prepared assessment tasks. Team A was affirmative and team members included Frances, Pippa, Nick and Eli. Team B were negative, their team members were Emma, Tom, Savannah and Sophia. Unfortunately, both teams lost after a challenging debate however we are looking forward to the next round of debating later this term.
Year 5 Art
Sporting fever has taken over Year 5! Inspired by the excitement of the Commonwealth Games and our own recent school athletics events, our creative Year 5 artists have been busy bringing the thrill of the track and field into the art lessons.
Using nothing but ordinary aluminium foil, students have been learning how to capture human anatomy, tension, and explosive movement in 3D form.
The students twisted, wrapped, and sculpted foil into dynamic figures. From sprinters bursting out of the blocks to high jumpers clearing the bar, the classroom display looks like a mini Olympic village!
