Grade 3/4

Term 4

Science Works

On Monday the 13th of November, the 3/4 students had  an amazing time at Scienceworks. The Students first attended a workshop called Sun, Earth and Moon. This visual session had equipment and interactive demonstrations to explain how the Earth's rotation on its axis affects the day and night cycle, and why we have seasons on Earth. Then we had some free time in the different galleries. The students explored the sports centre and the different robotics and space themes interactive games. Later we had an incredible session in a Tilt in the Planetarium. Students joined Annie and Max and their robot friend as they flew into space to discover how the seasons work. Students were laying down on recliner chairs and were exploring how the four seasons are caused by the tilt of the Earth's axis combined with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun and how the seasons and length of day vary across the Earth. It was a fabulous day and everyone really enjoyed the whole experience.
