Year 6 Mathematics Boot Camp

The aim of our Mathematics Boot Camp was to equip our incoming Year 7 students with the necessary skills and confidence to excel in Mathematics as they transition to secondary school. The content was carefully crafted to cover essential mathematical concepts while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. It combined traditional teaching methods with hands-on activities and interactive games, making it not only educational, but also enjoyable. Beyond the academic focus, the Mathematics Boot Camp also aimed to nurture essential skills like teamwork and communication.

I would like to thank our dedicated staff for facilitating the Mathematics Boot Camp for students, as well as the separate session for parents and carers. We look forward to seeing the continued growth and achievements of these students in the next phase of their educational journey.

The Maths Boot Camp was like a 9.9/10. It was really fun because the Year 9s were really nice and they were really helpful. On one question there was one thing that I was struggling with and the people from the first day really helped me understand.

I liked the Maths Boot Camp a lot. It gave me information about what Maths you do in Year 7. I learnt new things about fractions and decimals whilst doing the crossword. It was really fun and I really enjoyed doing all the puzzles and worksheets. I would like to do something like this again. The helpers were really good and they answered all my questions.

The Maths Boot Camp was great, it was nice seeing who is going to Year 7 at St Norbert's as I could make new friends, while learning. It helped as now I know the basics of high school Maths due to Year 9 student helpers and my teacher for the Maths Boot Camp. Now due to this experience I am very excited about Year7 and all of high school at St Norbert College.
