Secondary Assistance Scheme

The State Government, through the Department of Education, provides financial support to eligible parents and carers through the Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS). The aim of the scheme is to assist low-income families with secondary schooling costs.

 

Eligible parents and carers with students enrolled in Years 7 to 12 studying a full-time secondary course at a Western Australian non governments school can apply for the SAS in 2024. 

 

As the application form is now an editable PDF (below), the College will accept applications emailed to the Finance Officer, provided it is completed by the card holder and a copy of both sides of the concession card is sent with the application.

2024 January Head Start Courses

Enrolments are now open for Academic Task Force's January Head Start Programs running between Thursday, 11 January 2024 and Tuesday, 23 January 2024. 

 

Get a head start to Years 11 and 12 with the ATAR January Head Start Program. Each 6 hour course (3 hours per day, over 2 days) provides students with an overview of the ATAR syllabus for their courses. For more information, please refer to the below document.

 

Get a head start to Years 7 to 10 with the Years 7-10 January Head Start Program. There are engaging 6 hour courses (3 hours per day, over 2 days) available in NAPLAN Preparation, GATE and Scholarship Exam Preparation, Essay Writing, English, Maths and Learning Skills. Year 7 2024 Orientation Day

A reminder that the Year 7 2024 Orientation Day is Wednesday, 29 November. Students are asked to arrive at 8.45am and assemble in James Court, outside the Br Pat Forum. 

 

Students can be collected by a parent or carer from James Court at 3.00pm, or they can use the College bus service with parent permission. There is also an opportunity for catch-up MYAT testing straight after Orientation Day, from 3.10pm - 4.10pm.

Train Closure Update

A reminder that the Armadale/Thornlie Line will be shutdown from Monday, 20 November. In preparation, METRONET hosted two webinars about the level crossing removal project. If you were unable to attend, please refer to the below recordings.

The Minister for Transport announced that regular Armadale/Thornlie Line users will receive six months of free travel from Monday, 20 November. For more information about the Free Travel Entitlement, including how to apply, please refer to the below document.

 

The Public Transport Authority has developed a travel brochure tailored for St Norbert College, to help students get to and from school using alternative bus services. Please refer to the below travel brochure, or access it via the Transperth website.

If you would prefer to use active travel modes to get to and from school during the shutdown, METRONET in collaboration with the Town of Victoria Park and City of Canning, has developed a guide that demonstrates how best to get around by walking, bicycle or other rideables. Uniform Shop Trading Hours

The last day of trading for the year will be Thursday, 7 December. The Uniform Shop will reopen in January, as per the below opening times. Appointments are not required.

  • Monday, 22 January - 1pm to 6pm.
  • Tuesday, 23 January - 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 6pm.
  • Monday, 29 January - 1pm to 6pm.
  • Wednesday, 31 January - 8am to 11am and 1pm - 4.30pm.

From Monday, 5 February, the Uniform Shop will return to regular trading hours, Mondays and Thursdays - 1pm to 4.30pm.

Class of 2013 Reunion

The Class of 2013 have organised a 10 year reunion at Blasta Brewing Company in Burswood on Saturday, 9 December from 3pm. They would love to see as many of the graduating class as possible, along with their partners and teachers.

Enrolments 2024

If your child is not returning to the College in 2024, please inform the College (in writing) as soon as possible to  avoid having to pay a term’s fees in lieu of sufficient notification. 

 

We have a number of students on our waiting lists and would like to offer positions for 2024 when they become available.
