Year 5/6 Regional Basketball Tournament

Over the weekend of 28-29 October, the College's Year 5/6 team hit the court to compete in the 5/6 Regional Basketball tournament.

Our team was placed in a very strong pool and played against some very tough (and tall) teams. The improvement our players showed from the first tap to the last siren was incredible. I don’t think Kate and I have been prouder watching a team compete – not once did they give up or lose their enthusiasm.

The team saved their best for last and finished the tournament with a bang, winning 51 to 6 – the prefect end to their tournament.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to coach David Richardson, whose positivity, kindness and gentle guidance shown throughout the tournament cannot be understated. The performance and improvement exemplified by the team is a direct result of David’s coaching.

We also wish to thank Year 8 student, Talia Wighton who was our referee for the tournament.

We look forward to cheering on our Year 3/4 teams and Talia in their tournament which will be played on 11-12 November.

STCPSSA Athletics Carnival

Our interschool athletics team took to the track and field last week to compete in the STCPSSA athletics carnival, the first of our two interschool carnivals.

In cold, wet and sometimes windy conditions, our athletes showed true grit and determination, always giving their best, despite the weather.

Well done to all competitors. A slightly different team will participate in the JSSATIS carnival next Thursday.
