State Champion

We have some amazing news in Prep C! Our friend, Fletcher, participated in the 2023 Victorian State BMX Championships. We are very excited to share that he came 4th in the state for his age bracket. Congratulations Fletch! We're so proud of you!

Literacy

Thanks to some help from our buddies, we have published our first digital piece of writing. In our last newsletter, we showed how the students completed a recount of our visit to Edendale Farm, from a planner that we created together in class. We took our finished writing pieces to our buddies and they helped us type it up, add a heading and insert a picture.

Numeracy

Our current topic is focusing on Location. The students have thought about the words we use when describing a location or giving someone directions. We have had the opportunity to watch videos about different types of maps, created our own maps and attempted giving each other directions to get from one place to another. The students made treasure maps and created a key to help people find landmarks on their maps. We also listened to the story of Rosie's Walk by Pat Hutchins and mapped out the way she walked around the farm.

Teddy Bear Picnic

We had a wonderful time at our teddy bear picnic. We set up our picnic rugs, ate snacks, blew bubbles and played some fun games. Some of us enjoyed finding our older brother or sister and then we ran, ran and ran some more, playing 'Fruit Salad' and 'Tiggy'. I think the last photo sums up how we were feeling at the end.

Halloween

A big thank you to all of our families for helping the Prep students prepare for our Halloween Dress-up Day. We had so much fun! Everyone looked terrific and we enjoyed dancing at the lunchtime disco.
