The Big Harvest

The mulberry harvest was a great success.

The chicken monitors gathered together to harvest the juicy, ripe, delicious mulberries in our school garden.

We picked and picked and picked and picked until our hands turned purple and pink!

Decked out in gloves and art smocks, we were covered from head to toe. Luckily, it washes off!

The mulberry tree was like a maze with overhanging branches heavy with ripe mulberries.

We filled four gigantic bowls full. Each class received their own portion to enjoy.

Although pretty messy, it was a blast!

Plant Stall at the Fair

I look forward to seeing families on Saturday at the plant stall run by our wonderful Grade 5/6 students. We will be selling tomato, cucumber, bean, pumpkin, melon, and zucchini seedlings. There will be some potted colour for sale as well as produce such as broad beans, peas, eggs, rhubarb, mulberries, and last summer’s giant pumpkin!

Keep a look out for the different waste bins. Students constructed signs to help you dispose of your waste. Food scraps are collected at the plant stall.

See you at the fair!
