Artist of the Month

A huge congratulations to our final Artists of the Month winners for 2023, Jessica (5D) and Benji (FD).

Jessica created a strong sense of depth in her 'Looking Up' piece by using different paint tints radiating out from a central point, in this case, the moon. Her shadowy tree silhouettes also added to the sense of perspective and depth.

Benji created a wonderful 'Zoomed In' drawing of a flower in the style of Georgia O'Keefe. He also did a terrific job using oil pastels to add patterns and create a 'resist' effect when he painted over it with coloured inks.

Sewing Superstars!

Year 1 & 2 students have been learning about Textiles. They firstly cut out a template and sponge painted around it to leave behind their desired shape on their piece of hessian. Next they began sewing around the outline with wool and plastic needles, using a running stitch (simple up, down, up down pattern). Some students have even begun adding additional details and items such as buttons and beads.

I'm sure you'll agree that they're doing a fabulous job!

Performing Arts

Foundation students have been using their choice of untuned percussion instruments to accompany their own written rhythm piece.
