Future Makers Day

Alicia Flynn

Last Tuesday, the Seniors enjoyed an excellent day of activities on fire, disaster risk reduction and resilience education. Engaging with activities including shelter building, mending and upcycling their own clothes, cooking food with found produce including edible weeds, and the fire and fuel awareness workshop with Dr. Briony Towers. At the end we came together for a demonstration of safe burning-off practices, based on First Nations’ practices of Cultural Burning.

Everybody participated enthusiastically, respectfully, and safely. A very big thank you to the Specialist team and all teachers and Ed Support people involved in making the day a great success.
