Friday 1st December - SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY
With just one day remaining before the school Fete, the excitement is building. With much still to do, the Fete committee have been busy behind the scenes planning and preparing for this wonderful event. Â
Â
Now is the time that we, the custodians of the 2023 Fete all come together to work and support this great community we call SJV. We want to continue the growth of our Fete as a significant fundraising and social event for our school, our community and the broader community who support our efforts. This year the funds that we raise will go a long way to the development of our school resources and infrastructure. Let’s make this year’s Fete an effort to remember and a time that the children will never forget. So jump on board and support this wonderful event! It would be great if every family actively contributes to the success of this year’s event.Â
Â
Please make sure that you read the Fete News such as there is information regarding classroom hampers, food donations and the cake stall etc.
Â
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE STUDENTS WEAR CASUAL CLOTHES TO SCHOOL TOMORROW, FRIDAY 17TH NOVEMBER!
Our Year 3/4 classes had a very enjoyable camp earlier this week. The weather behaved and the students were able to experience a number of outdoor activities and challenges. I would like to thank the Year 3/4 team for organising and leading the camp. I would also like to thank Luke Brownhill, Laura Heiberg, John James,  Mel Hanson and  Julia Mascali for taking time away from their own families to ensure that our students had this opportunity.
Yesterday, we had our 2024 Preps attend their final transition session here at SJV. It was wonderful to see so many students wearing their SJV Super Preps T-shirt. Â The 2024 Preps joined the current Prep cohort for morning Tea which was rather exciting. We look forward to them all joining us here next year at SJV.
On Friday the 24th of November, the students will participate in the Jordy Thomson colour fun run here at SJV. Â As Jordy was such a vibrant and active person we thought it would be a great tribute to her to name the colour run in her honour. There will be no cost involved to participate. Students will be able to wear a white T-shirt on the day and might like to bring in their own pair of sunglasses and wear sweatbands.Â
Â
On this Day, the students will come together to have a shared picnic lunch on the oval More information will follow next week.
Last Friday, some of our Year 5 leaders represented the SJV community at the Remembrance Day Service at the Mentone RSL. It was a beautiful service and our Year 5 leaders enjoyed the experience, especially the morning tea afterwards!
On Thursday 30th of November at 6.30pm, the new before and after school care providers  (Their Care) are holding an information session here at SJV in the MPR. All are parents are welcomed to attend and find out about the new program coming to SJV in .
