Please enjoy these recounts from students of their time on camp:

In Oasis Camp, there are lots of fun activities and tasty food. My favorite activity was laser tag because it felt like I was in the army. My favorite meal was tacos. I really liked the tacos because it had chicken inside the taco. The cabins were the most fun because I had all my friends in there. It was so fun being in a cabin together and it was so fun sleeping in a cabin together. At the last day of Camp we went on a walk for 1h 15 minutes. I was so tired after that long walk. When we got there we got sandwiches, I had chicken, cheese and salad. After we went on a bus and came to EHPS!!!!!!

Oasis Camp isn’t too long of a drive from EHPS. Once the bus stopped at a park on the way from EHPS, I knew I could finally eat (yay). We finally made it to Oasis, my friends and I were filled with excitement. We got to do lots of activities like: candle-making, Giant Swing, Flying Fox and lots more. When it was time for cabins to be announced, I froze because of nerves. I was scared of who I would be with but luckily I was with all of my best friends. The food was very, very, very good (for a camp)! Overall I thought I had an unforgettable and a very, very good experience. OASIS CAMP ROCKS!

The day to go to Oasis Camp had come and I was ready. I had everything I needed, so I hopped into the car and my mum drove me to school. I went to the stadium and waited until we went on the bus. The ride to Oasis Camp was boring but I had my friend to accompany me. We stopped at a park to eat our snack then kept going. Finally, we arrived at the camp and we came out with big grins. We went to the gym and played a game where we had to find stuff on pictures.

After that, we went inside to have lunch. Happily, we all finished our lunch and went to different stations to do activities. My first activities were laser tag and candle-making. When we finished our activities, we walked slowly to the fire pit to eat watermelon slices. We joyfully finished our watermelon and walked to our cabins. At our cabins we set up our beds and showered. Then, we ate dinner and dessert. After that, we went to the campfire to tell stories and roast marshmallows.

This year, the Grade 4s in EHPS went to Oasis Camp. The drive there took about an hour and we stopped by a park to have our recess when we were about halfway to camp. Once we were finally there, we unloaded our luggage into the gym. After that, we listened to the rules, did a photo hunt before getting into our groups. I was in Group A. We had lots of activities at camp and lots of tasty food. On Day 3, we walked to a park (4-5km, 2 hour walk). There we ate sandwiches before playing in the park and going back to EHPS.

Oasis Camp is a lovely camp with so many opportunities! Oasis Camp staff treat everyone with kindness and respect. Camp is what everyone looks forward to, but Oasis Camp is the best thing of the year to look forward to. They have rock climbing, and my personal favourite, candle-making! If you’re a dare-devil, try to go all the way to the top of the Giant Swing (trust me…you will be scared)! Also the cabins are really nice, they usually have over three beds. The Oasis staff are so nice, they always give a smile. So next time you want to go camping…head over to Oasis Camp!

I went to camp on the 17th June-19th June. Some of the activities were rock climbing, Flying Fox, Giant Swing, laser tag, candle-making and gym games. I really enjoyed camp because I got to go first in the meals, I loved all the activities there and all my friends and teachers encouraged me to do my best, even though I had a tummy ache. The last day walk was the best because we walked 5.73km.

Revansh, 4C

The drive to Oasis Camp was about one hour from Essex to Oasis. On the first day, we did two activities in our activity groups. Each group did different activities. The activities were: Giant Swing, Flying Fox, laser tag, gym games, candle-making and rock climbing. The next day, we had breakfast, lunch and then we did four other activities and then had dinner. The food was really good. We had chicken, pancakes, chicken tacos, burgers and English muffins with eggs and hash browns. On the third day, we packed up and had breakfast. Then we walked for one and a half hours to a park to have lunch. Then we took a bus back to school.

Oasis Camp is an awesome place for camp. Their food is so good – chicken and rice, tacos, pancakes, burgers, cookie sandwich and ice cream. Activities were great fun. I went on the Flying Fox upside-down! I also went to the top in rock climbing and on the Giant Swing, I went three-quarters of the way up. The cabins were so fun. Before we got to know our cabins, I was so nervous because what if I didn’t end up with my friends? Luckily, I did! Candle making was hard. At first, I was worried that I would burn my fingers (which I did), but I was fine. I made a green, yellow, blue and purple swirly candle. It was a challenge.

Sienna, 4C

I went to camp on the 17th June to 19th June. The bus ride to camp was around one hour and there was a break to eat snack around 45 minutes into the bus ride. When we got there, we had a scavenger hunt. I was in a group with my friends. After the scavenger hunt, we got to know our activity groups. I was in Group C. After that, Group C did laser tag, then candle making. When the activities ended, I ate my lunch. Then we got to know our cabins and cabin groups.

Camp is the best ever, don’t be scared. It is so fun, you get the best food ever and friends. You get really good cabins too so nothing can go wrong. You have to follow the rules and stay in the boundary.

Camp was fun, food was good, cabins were good, activites were fun. Everything was good! I was scared to go on the flying fox, but I still went. The giant swing wasn’t scary, I went to the very top. I liked the disco and the campfire too, it was really fun and better than just playing games on the phone.

Devin, 4S

Oasis camp was a fun and amazing experience. I was able to do lots of things and experience fun things like doing activities and the disco and much more. I couldn’t choose what my favourite activity was because they were all so fun to do.

Jasmine, 4S

Camp Oasis was one of the best experiences I have had. The food is delicious and the activities are so fun!

Swimming Program

The compulsory swimming program for Year 4 students is seven consecutive sessions in weeks 2 and 3 next term from Thursday 23 July to Friday 31 July. Students will attend a 45 minute lesson each day at the Huntingtower Sports and Aquatic Centre (HSAC) Swim School in Mount Waverley.

The event notice will be published on Compass. Please process your consent and payment by the due date.

Please refer to the Swimming Program page in this newsletter for more detailed information, including a reminder to not order a Canteen lunch during the swimming program and provide extra brain food from home as the children get extra hungry.

To help make this program safe, well-supported and successful for all students, we are seeking parent/guardian volunteers to assist throughout the program. Your support is greatly appreciated and plays an important role in helping these experiences run smoothly. If you have fulfilled the requirements to be a volunteer at EHPS (hold a current Working with Children Check, signed the Child Safety Code of Conduct acknowledgement at the Office to confirm you understand and will adhere to EHPS Child Safe and Volunteer policies, and completed the OH&S induction for volunteers with Gabby at the Office) and are available to assist, please advise your interest using the link provided in the Compass email sent this week by Elisha Cotterell.
