School Saving Bonus
Dear Families,
This is a reminder that you may still have funds available through the School Saving Bonus (SSB) and/or the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) that can be used towards eligible camps, excursions and school activities.
This is particularly relevant for families of Year 12 students. Remaining School Saving Bonus funds may be able to be used towards upcoming Year 12 events such as Cornucopia, the Year 12 Formal and the Year 12 Day Out.
Please note that School Saving Bonus funds cannot be used for Subject Contributions.
If you are unsure whether you have any remaining SSB or CSEF funds available, or if your remaining balance is less than the cost of an event you would like to book, please email the school at doncaster.sc@education.vic.gov.au. We are happy to assist and discuss the options available.
A Message from Doncaster Secondary College's School Council President for 2026
Hello Parents,
My name is Ross Moll, and I have recently been appointed Doncaster Secondary College School Council President for the 2026 year. This is my second year as President, 6th year on school council and 10th year as a parent of a Doncaster student.
During this time, I have seen the school develop and grow in size, academic achievement and standing within the wider community.
One area where DSC has always excelled is the additional services and opportunities it has been able to offer students, beyond the classroom teachings. This includes things such as Health and Wellbeing, Technology, Sport, Performing Arts and Music, Specialist learning. There are well-maintained physical environments including playgrounds and study areas which DSC have been able to provide students. These additional supports help make the students school experience a positive one and allow them to be the best version of themself.
Through Voluntary Curriculum Contributions and donations, parents have played a significant role in supporting the resources required to provide these valuable services and experiences to students. On behalf of School Council, I thank all those who have been able to contribute to these programs.
While being conscious of the restraints the current economic conditions are putting on many families, for those who are in a position we ask if you would consider making a contribution towards these great additional services DSC provide to your student. Every contribution helps and some options are also tax deductible.
- Staffing and Resourcing the Health Centre
- Performing Arts Program
- School Sport
- Additional IT support, maintenance and upgrade
- Communication platforms such as Compass and Newsletter
- Academic Advisors for senior students
- Facilities and Maintenance Personnel

Thank you for your time and looking forward to a great 2026
Ross Moll

Director’s Message - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
We are now down to the final countdown—just four weeks until production week—and there is still so much to do! What a journey it has been. In a Willy Wonka manner, there have been ups, downs, twists, turns, spirals, fun moments shared – but the excitement is building!! This production has been a wonderful experience for everyone involved. Our cast has had the opportunity to work across year levels, building new friendships while developing their performance skills. They have tackled challenging choreography with Miss Dance and the assistance of Miss Gin, worked tirelessly with Mrs Howes on learning harmonies and singing, and spent countless hours refining scenes, timing, characterisation and staging as all the pieces of the production have gradually come together with myself!
Our senior students have been 'leading the way' with our Performing Arts Captain, Henry as Wonka, running warm-ups, assisted by Sienna (grandpa Joe), both being well prepared for rehearsals. Lexi (grandparent) assisting the director and Charlotte (Mrs Gloop) also helping to make props! This is one of the youngest casts, with a large number of Year 7 students stepping onto the stage with energy, some for the first time. They have thrown themselves into rehearsals like true professionals with Zac as Charlie (a lead in state school spectacular), Callum (in State school spec choir) as Augustus, our very own Mike Teavee, Oscar, Elroy as the reporter Jerry and our Swing Vanellope! Kade, Mia, Paris, Evelyn, Pranay, Ava Georgios and Rocky it hints at an exciting beginning of hopefully a long performing arts journey! The talent within this group is something special.
Behind the scenes, we have been working hard to train our technical crew! They have been learning the many skills required to run a show behind the scenes with Mr Dean, Miss Bryant and Alumni Ryan, who has run a series of workshops. A huge thank you to our facilities guys, in particular Tom, for his incredible skills in building our brilliant sets - something magical to see.
Many others have contributed to this production. Mr Hensby-Robinson has generously captured photographs for our programme, while Mr Leong’s Year 9 students have designed and created set pieces and props as part of their assessment work. We have also been incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful team of parent volunteers who have devoted countless hours to costumes, makeup, props and set construction. Special thanks to Wendy Drowley (Heidelberg Theatre Company ) and her lyrebird-winning granddaughter from The Crucible last year, Georgia Moodie, for their dedication to costumes. To the wonderful Kristina and the legendary Caroline, whose creativity, generosity and hard work have been amazing in props, set and costume! A Huge thanks once again to ‘Rotary’, David Rosenwax, for sponsoring VIP night and VIC Prop for sponsoring our signage, programme and helping supply our canteen -greatly appreciated! We cannot wait to share it with you
