Open-Minded Learners in Action

Being open-minded means listening to different perspectives, valuing diversity, and showing respect for the ideas and experiences of others. Across our learning community, students have been exploring what this looks like in many meaningful ways.

In Years 3–5, students have been learning about the stories and perspectives of others in their WWAPT unit and our Year 2 students are exploring culture and identity through stories.

Here are some reflections from our Year 3 learners about the importance of being open-minded:

“Being open-minded means we can be more respectful to the stories and ideas of others. When we learn about their culture, we can understand them better. If we are not open-minded, people might feel offended or hurt.” – Kavya 3C
