From the Principal

Principal: Mathew Montebello

Dear families,

Welcome Back – Term 4 Begins!

Welcome back to all our students, staff, and families for the final term of 2025! We hope everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break and is feeling refreshed and ready for the busy and exciting weeks ahead.

Term 4 is always a special time in the school year — a chance to celebrate achievements, reflect on growth, and set goals for the year’s end. There’s plenty to look forward to, including upcoming excursions, special events, graduation preparations, and the many opportunities for learning and connection that make our school such a vibrant place.

Families Relocating or Leaving in 2026

As we begin Term 4, planning for the 2026 school year is already underway. While we’re only in the first week, we’re keen to hear from any families who know they will be relocating or leaving Williamstown Primary next year.

If your family is moving on in 2026 and you haven’t yet informed the office, please contact us as soon as possible. Having this information early helps us plan class structures and ensure a smooth transition for all students.

We appreciate your support in helping us prepare for another successful year ahead.

2026 Foundation Information Evening – Next Tuesday 14 October

We are excited to invite families of children starting school in 2026 to our Foundation Information Evening on Tuesday 14 October.

This session is a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to learn more about our school’s programs, meet key staff, and discover how we support every child’s smooth and confident transition into school life.

You’ll hear about our approach to early learning, wellbeing, and how we help our youngest students build strong foundations for success — both academically and socially.

Details:

  • Tuesday 14 October
  • 6:00pm – 7:00pm
  • Junior Hall

We encourage all 2026 Foundation families to attend. Please share this information with friends, neighbours, or community members who have a child starting school with us next year.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing what makes our school such a wonderful place to begin the learning journey!

Sunsmart Reminder – Term 4

A reminder to all families that during Term 4, all students are required to wear a SunSmart hat while outdoors. This is part of our school’s SunSmart Policy.

Even on cooler or overcast days, UV levels can still be high, and children can be easily burnt. We encourage families to apply sunscreen before school each day, and remind students to reapply as needed.

Additional sunscreen is available in every classroom for student use. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe under the sun!

Warm regards,

Mat Montebello
