Clayfield College Teams Shine in Winter Fixtures
It’s crunch time in the QGSSSA Winter Fixtures, with Clayfield teams entering the final rounds of their seasons. While it has been a year of learning and growth across many sports, there’s plenty of determination on display as students finish strong.
In tennis, the competition is building towards a nail-biting finish. The Open and Senior A divisions are still in contention, with the premiership to be decided in the last two rounds. Clayfield currently sits in second place and will face St Margaret’s this weekend before meeting Brisbane Girls Grammar in the final round, a clash that could decide the title.
The hockey program has been particularly encouraging, with players showing positivity, development, and a strong commitment to giving their all each week.
On the volleyball court, matches have been tightly contested, often going one set apiece before narrow margins in the third set determined the outcome.
Meanwhile, our netball teams have demonstrated great resilience, with the Opens team in particular notching impressive wins against some tough opponents.
The club basketball program also wrapped up its Winter season. While results were a mix of wins and losses, the campaign was filled with effort, improvement, and plenty of memorable moments. Players should be proud of the way they represented Clayfield with energy and sportsmanship each week.
Across CC Sport programs, our student athletes continue to show resilience, teamwork, and school spirit. As the final rounds approach, we look forward to seeing all teams finish with determination and pride.
Student Spectators
As part of Clayfield College’s ongoing commitment to cultivating a strong sense of community and school spirit, it is an expectation that all secondary students attend and support this event.
The QGSSSA Track and Field Championships will be held on Thursday, 18 September at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC), Nathan.

All student spectators are required to travel via the school-provided transport, as this day is considered part of the normal school timetable.
The College sincerely thanks all students in advance for their attendance and support of both the QGSSSA Track and Field team and the broader College community. Your commitment, encouragement, and enthusiasm play a vital role in upholding the spirit and traditions of Clayfield College.
