Performing Arts

In Term 3, students from Prep to Grade 6 have been learning about putting on a play.
Foundation and Grade 1/2 students have explored elements of Drama such as movement and voice. They have used these elements to imagine, and perform an array of colourful characters.
F-2 students have practised performing their characters to an audience helping them to understand what a play is. They have enjoyed re-enacting stories such as ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and ‘How the Birds Got Their Colours’.
Grade 3-6 students have been exploring the question ‘What is the point of Drama?’ They have been exposed to creation stories from many cultures and have used their observations and understanding to write their own creation story plays.
They have used improvisation and character development as tools to help them develop their stories for the stage.
Creativity and charisma have been on full display this term and it has been wonderful to see students take on so many opportunities to perform.
