Father's Day Celebrations

It was wonderful to see so many Dads and Grandfathers at our Fathers’ Day celebrations last Friday! Lots of fun was had by everyone, loads of sausages were cooked and lots of time spent celebrating the gift of our dads!

Year 1 led a beautiful Liturgy to remind us how wonderful our dads are and to thank God for them!

Their opening prayer reflected this and Lucas from 1B started our Liturgy beautifully !

"Welcome to our special liturgy this morning in which we thank God for the wonderful gift of fathers. Today we especially welcome all who are fathers, fathers-to-be and grandfathers, as well as those who love and care for children like a father.  We also remember in a special way, the Fathers who are no longer with us. We praise and thank our God for our wonderful dads!"

Sulevia from 1G led the concluding prayer reminding us of how grateful we are for their loving guidance!

Dear God,

As we come to the end of our time together today, we thank You for the special gift of our fathers and all the father figures in our lives. We are grateful for their love, guidance, and the countless ways they show their care for us.

Help us to remember the lessons they teach us and to show our appreciation through our words and actions. May we always honour and cherish them, not just today, but every day. Bless all fathers with strength, wisdom, and joy. Grant them the grace to continue being a source of support and inspiration. And may we, as their children, grow to be loving and respectful in return.

We place our trust in Your loving care, and we ask You to keep our families close to You and to each other.

Amen

Year 6 Religious Education Intervention and De La Salle Students

by Alexis and Adelaide

In year 6, we have been lucky enough to have support from year 12 De La Boys to help with preparation for our year 6 RE test taking place in Term 4. We have also had lessons in the Church to get ready for our year 6 Confirmation Mass at Saint Mary's Cathedral on 9th November.

These are some of the questions that the Year 12 boys have been helping us with.

  • What are the 7 Sacraments of the church?
  • What are the symbols of Confirmation?
  • What are the 4 mysteries of the Rosary?
  • What are the words that are said  when the candidate for Confirmation is being confirmed?
  • Who is the minister?

Answers to the above questions… How did you go ???

  • Baptism, Penance (Reconciliation), Eucharist (Communion), Confirmation, Holy Orders Marriage,  Anointing of the Sick
  • Flame, oil  and the Dove
  • Joyful, Luminous, Glorious and Sorrowful
  • “Be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Bishop and/or Priest
