News from our Principal

Dear Parents,
I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Mrs Melissa Hunter and Mrs Taylar Stewart who will be leaving us at the end of this term and going on maternity leave to start their families. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish them all the best.
Mrs Melissa Hunter who teaches 6W has had an important impact on the learning of not only the students in her class, but many students and families over the years. She has been able to build relationships with each of her students and make connections with them to support their academic, spiritual, social and emotional learning. She has also been a driving force in building teacher capacity across our school in her role on the Leadership team as the Instructional Specialist, generously sharing expertise, mentoring colleagues, and championing professional growth with tireless dedication.
Mrs Taylar Stewart teaches 5B and has also been the Sport Coordinator for many years. Over the years, she has brought boundless energy, dedication, and heart to every lesson in her classroom and every student she has supported. Whether in the classroom or on the sporting field, Mrs Stewart has inspired excellence, teamwork, and resilience. Her tireless work in promoting sporting excellence and building a strong sporting culture has left an indelible mark on our school community.
Mrs Hunter and Mrs Stewart’s impact has been felt far and wide—from classrooms to leadership teams to sporting ventures—and we are deeply grateful for the passion, wisdom, and heart they have brought to everything they do. While we’ll miss them both, we’re also excited for this beautiful new chapter ahead. We wish them all the joy and love that comes with welcoming a new little one as they start their families.
We welcome Miss Francesca Formica who will be teaching 5B in Term 4 and Mrs Kim Noonan who will take on the teaching load in 6W for the rest of the year. Mrs Noonan is currently working with Year 6 as the Diverse Learning teacher.
We also congratulate Mrs Tayla Waters who will take on the temporary Instructional Specialist role in Mrs Hunter’s absence. I am sure she will continue to work positively with the teachers to build their capacity to implement teaching and learning at OLF and nurture student growth. Exciting times for OLF!
