Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Coming to school every day helps children learn more. There is no safe number of days to miss; every day is important.

Every Learner, Every Day is a campaign designed to raise awareness about the importance of attendance for every student, on every school day and to promote a healthy attendance.

When children miss a significant amount of school in the early years, it can often continue into later years. Missing school adds up over time. It affects not just learning this year, but also learning in the future.

As a parent of two young children, I acutely understand that children get sick, especially in winter. When they are sick, the best place is at home, but if they are well, it is important to come to school.

Here is something to think about: if a child misses just 10 days of school each year, by the end of their schooling years, they will have missed a whole year of learning.

This shows why coming to school regularly is so important.

Sun Safety at School

The expectation of “No hat, play in the shade” is followed all year in every part of the playground. Each play area has shaded spaces for students without hats. Please remember, only school hats are to be worn.

In Christ,

Anthony Matthews
