Excursions and Immersions

Year 12 Art Excursion to the Foundry Artspace

On Thursday 12 September, our Year 12 Art Making and Exhibiting students took part in a valuable excursion to the Foundry Artspace in Echuca. The group walked down to view the exhibition Where Do All the Owls Go to Dream? – a captivating body of work by past student Olivia Rae Razuki.

The exhibition presented a stunning collection of artworks, showcasing Olivia’s dedication, technical skill, and thoughtful exploration of ideas. Students were inspired by both the scale and detail of her work, as well as the professional standard of the exhibition itself. The experience offered them a first-hand insight into the creative practice of a working artist and highlighted the dedication required to bring such an exhibition together.

Olivia’s exhibition provided the group with an excellent case study in how artworks can be curated, displayed and conserved to create a cohesive and meaningful audience experience.

The visit also offered valuable preparation for their end-of-year exam and final presentation planning, as students were able to engage with another local artspace, broadening their understanding of the different ways artworks can be presented.

We thank Olivia for sharing her inspiring work and congratulate her on an outstanding exhibition that has left a strong impression on our students. Experiences like these continue to reinforce the importance of connecting classroom learning with the real world of art making and exhibiting.

Thanks to all who attended.

Army Careers Day

Earlier this month, a group of our students with a keen interest in the defence force had the opportunity to attend an Army Careers Day at the Puckapunyal Army Base.

The day gave students valuable insight into career pathways, training and the many opportunities available within the defence forces - an inspiring experience for those considering this pathway.
