Kindergarten at Ulverstone

Exciting Term for Kinder Classes at Leighland!
This term has been full of joy, curiosity, and learning for our two Kinder classes at the Ulverstone campus of Leighland Christian School. Under the care and guidance of Mrs Jackson and Miss Evans, our youngest students have been thriving in a nurturing and engaging environment.
Each day begins with a warm welcome, followed by a blend of structured learning and play-based activities. The children are exploring early literacy and numeracy through hands-on games, songs, and stories, while also developing fine motor skills with creative art projects and sensory play. Outdoor time remains a highlight, as the Kinder’s enjoy being in the fresh air, exploring nature, and practicing their social skills through imaginative play.
This term’s theme, “Nursery Rhymes,” has helped students discover more about rhyme, rhythm and playing with language. Our Christian Living lessons have focused on Creation, Building Community, and Showing Kindness. Daily devotions and prayer-time support spiritual growth in age-appropriate and meaningful ways.
Kinder classes have also enjoyed an excursion to the Arboretum, participated in the Cross Country, and some exciting science experiments – sparking curiosity and wonder in young minds.
This term, we have also rolled out our new communication platform ‘Storypark’. This app allows for real-time communication with parents; sharing photos and videos of what the Kinder’s are learning and doing at school.
We are so proud of how each child is growing in confidence, friendships, and their love of learning. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and partnership in this important first year of school!
