Some words from the Principal
Mrs Courtney Hoffmann
Dear Karoo PS Community,
I trust this update finds you well and you’re all managing to stay warm in this first week of winter. Our teachers and staff are working hard today moderating student work and preparing for Semester 1 reports. We hope that you have been able to enjoy the day backing it onto a long weekend has hopefully allowed for some families to head away!
At our whole school assembly on Friday the 30th of May, our school celebrated and acknowledged Ashley Kuusela and thanked her for her work at Karoo PS. Our School Captains shared a speech to say thank you and gave flowers. Our staff also will also have time to celebrate the positive impact that Ashley has had on our school. Ashley has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the school community for their kind words and acknowledgement and felt thoroughly celebrated.
This week, Peta Phillips, Ashley Kuusela, Hugh McLaughlin and I attended the Victorian Statewide Principals Conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage in further learning from renowned leaders in education and participate in evidence-based professional learning and networking with colleagues. We look forward to reflecting on our learning and utilising this new knowledge to support Karoo PS in our next steps.
Please don't hesitate to tell family and friends to book in for a school tour if they have a Foundation student for next year. Current families must also apply online by July 28th for enrolment in Foundation 2026. Please refer to our 2026 Foundation page in this newsletter or see Karen Sexton in the office if you would like assistance with the process.
The last day of Term 2 is Friday 4th July. School finishes at 2.30pm. OSHC will be available from that time for those booked in.
Term 3 - The first day back of school for Term 3 is Monday 21st July.
Have a wonderful L O N G weekend,
Kind Regards,
Courtney Hoffmann
