Greetings Karoo-ians,

This term, our budding photographers in Years 2–4 have been exploring the magic of slow shutter speed and light painting! Using long exposure settings and small light sources like torches and glow sticks, students have been drawing with light to create some truly amazing photos.

It’s been all about experimenting – waving lights through the air, drawing images in darkened rooms, and discovering how movement turns into pretty trails on camera.

While the weather outside is turning cold, dark, and wet… it’s actually making our media lessons even better! The gloomier the day, the more perfect it is for slow shutter photography.

More photography adventures are on the way as we continue to explore how cameras can capture the world in unexpected ways. Stay tuned!
