Principal Personal Announcement Update
As per the XUNO message that was sent to the ASPS community on Wednesday 4 June and having accepted the principal position at Milgate Primary School, I can now confirm that my last day will be at Auburn South will be on Friday 1 August. I had been hoping to stretch this date out until the end of Term 3, hence the ambiguity in my original message.
While I am finishing up on 1 August, I will continue to support the school throughout Term 3 to ensure a smooth handover and transition. This may include attendance at important school events and activities.
With my end-date now finalised, I can confirm that Mrs Kate Nancarrow will continue to work at ASPS through till (at least) the end of Term 3. Kate has been a wonderful addition to the school's leadership team and we're grateful for her continued support. The timeline to find a suitable principal replacement has not yet been finalised but it is hoped that the new principal is appointed and ready to start at ASPS from the commencement of Term 4.

Jack's Letterbox
You may have noticed the bright and colorful mailbox in our office! This special letterbox was generously donated by the Davey family in loving memory of their son, Jack. With Jack being an avid basketball fan (playing and watching), the current letterbox theme celebrates the NBA finals! Jack's letterbox is more than just decoration — it’s a symbol of connection and purposeful rememberance.
The Davey family hopes that Jack's Letterbox will become a meaningful way for students and staff to share messages of kindness, gratitude, and hope across our school.
Stay tuned for updates and be sure to contribute your own messages!
New Faces at ASPS
The Department of Education has provided our school with additional support in the form of experienced school leaders. Some families will have met
Natalie Grieve and Colin Dobson, who have provided occasional leadership support to the school when Marcus has been on leave.
Kate Nancarrow, an experienced school leader,
will continue to support the school's principal team through Term 3 or until the conclusion of the principal selection process is completed.
Child Safety and Wellbeing at ASPS: Information for families and the school community
Auburn South Primary School is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.
Our child safety framework explains how we support and maintain child safety and wellbeing at ASPS. It includes our:
Child Safety Reporting and Responding Obligations Procedures, and
Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours for all staff and volunteers at our school.
Our students and families are important partners in providing a child safe environment. These regular newsletter reminders are one of the ways we ensure our school community is aware of:
- our commitment to child safety, and
- how to provide feedback or raise child safety concerns.
If you have any concerns about child safety at any time, please contact a member of the principal team on 9882 2140. Any child safety complaints or concerns are treated seriously. For more information about our school’s complaints process, see our Complaints Policy.
We also welcome your ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing. If you have any suggestions or comments please contact the school on 9882 2140 or auburn.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au .
