DO IT FOR DOLLY DAY
Staff and students of Mortlake college proudly took part in Dolly Day on Friday 9th of May, dressing head to toe in blue to stand united against bullying. The day was part of a national campaign inspired by Dolly Everett, aiming to promote kindness, inclusivity and putting an end to bullying. Through gold coin donations, face paint, jelly cups and a kindness wall, students and staff raised funds to support anti-bullying initiatives. The event highlighted the importance of speaking up and looking out for one another, making a powerful statement of support and hope to spread kindness. - Daniel Fowler Inspire House Captain
The sun shone, the scones were full of jam and cream, and our beautiful mums, grandmothers and friends joined us in the Undercover Area last Friday for a lovely catch up to celebrate Mothers’ Day. There was a sea of blue as our visitors joined in the Do It For Dolly Day.
2025 STUDENT OF THE WEEK
🌟 Walk Safely to School Morning 🌟
On Friday, students, families, and staff came together to take part in Walk Safely to School morning, and what a fantastic morning it was!
With bright smiles, safe shoes, and plenty of enthusiasm, students participated in the initiative, promoting road safety, health, and environmental awareness.
Students gathered at Clarkes Cafe, and our bus travelers were met by Mrs DeManser & Mrs Boyden at the Rose Garden for a fun and safe journey to school.
Our Primary students participated in the colouring competition. We were amazed by the creativity and effort shown by all participants!
👏 Congratulations to the following winners:
Hannah, Allister, Clay, Mia, Zoey, Jaxon & Annabell.
Well done to everyone who took part — your artwork brightened our halls and brought smiles to many faces!
Thanks to the support of our school student leaders, the event ran smoothly and safely. Special shout-outs to local police officers Sargent Stephen Malikoff & Rebecca Clark for their support with organising and participating in this event.
Acting Principal Anne DeManser said, “Events like this remind us of the power of community and the importance of teaching our children safe and healthy habits from a young age. Thank you to everyone who made it a success!”
We look forward to making next year’s event. Until then, let’s keep walking safely!
