Captains Corner

By Sahana 6C

Welcome to this weeks edition of the newsletter! Wow term 2 is coming to an end so fast it’s like just yesterday I was writing my first captains corner! I am thrilled to share all the exciting things happening at G.W.P.S.

Firstly, the year 5-6s had their hoop time on Wednesday 11th of June, and they did awesome shooting hoops and working together to win! Congratulations to all the students who participated.

As most of you might know this week for home learning we had our education week task. We had to create a cultural poster about our culture and about our cultural wellbeing. On Thursday 12th of June we shared with our families and to the community our incredible cultures.

For the year 5s-6s they started Maths Olympiad and Maths games. If you are not familiar with it, its were people doing Maths Olympiad have 5 questions as individuals and they have a certain amount of time to answer them, whereas Maths games on the other hand are where you work in groups and solve 5 Maths questions collaboratively. Though the questions were hard we are all so proud of ourselves for giving it a go!

As term 3 is approaching so is something else…. Our whole school production! This is an opportunity for the whole school to be involved in dancing, singing, acting and drama. Auditions for these roles are being held this term and next term. Good luck to all the people who audition and remember to… break a leg!

Thank you so much for reading the week’s edition of the newsletter and I hoped you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it, and hope to see you again next fortnight!
