We are proud to share that a group of our talented students recently represented St Leonard’s at the Divisional Cross Country event at Mirrabooka Reserve, Blackburn.
Held on 28th May, the event brought together students from across the division to compete at a high level, and our representatives did an outstanding job showcasing perseverance, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
Congratulations to the following students on their fantastic achievement:
- Alina Damanakis
- Natalie Ramirez
- Will Paone
- Devlin Samsir
- Lachie Simonds
- Aaliyah Ursua
NB: Mila Babic and Nathan Kresnoadi also qualified but were unable to compete on the day.
A special congratulations to Natalie Ramirez, Aaliyah Ursua, and Lachie Simonds, who performed exceptionally well and have qualified for the EMR Cross Country event to be held on Thursday, 12th June. We wish them all the best as they prepare to compete at the next level!
Well done to all our runners – you’ve made our school proud!
Aaliyah:
“ I came 4th in the U12/13 girls race. The course was a bush track with wet, slippery mud and I loved it when it rained on my face. At the end of the race, I was SOAKING WET!”
Natalie:
“I came 5th in the U11 Girls and I found the course really hard but I really enjoyed it when it started raining and all the cool air started coming into my face. In the end I was SO tired but it was all worth it.”
Will:
“Sadly I had a cold that day and I just missed out by one spot, I came 13th and tried my hardest.”
Lachie:
“ I am proud of myself for doing the course and making it to regionals and coming 12th “
Devlin:
“I am glad I made it to division even though I did not make it to regionals, I tried my best and I’m proud of that“
Alina:
“I came 84th and I did my best.”
