Term 2 has been busy with students finalising their Unit 3 results, completing mid-year exams and their involvement in extra-curricular activities/excursions ranging from the Careers Expo, School Production, elevate – Ace Your Exams, Yarra Valley Chocolate Factory, VCAT, Harmony Day, Cross Country, Regional Sport.
We also saw over 400 students participate in the VCAA GAT which was a resounding success, showcasing our students’ respect and dedication to this important assessment.
We celebrated the end of Term 2 with an Assembly where many students were recognised for excellence in Attendance, Academics, RGAR, GPA growth and Extra-Curricular Activities.
We are grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families, and we appreciate your ongoing support in helping our students thrive. We look forward to an exciting Term 3 and Unit 4.
Well, what a semester it has been! Our students have truly demonstrated resilience, determination, and growth as they worked hard to complete their Unit 3 coursework. As we race toward the finish line, it is important to take a moment to reflect on their efforts and achievements.
This semester, we also farewelled our VPC students, and I would like to take a moment to acknowledge and congratulate each and every one of them. They have come such a long way over the past 18 months, and their growth, both personal and academic, has been truly inspiring. Their resilience, commitment, and maturity are a testament to their hard work and the support of their families. We wish them all the very best as they take their next steps beyond the school gates.
There has also been a strong focus this semester on improving student attendance and punctuality. With the reintroduction of attendance contracts alongside our usual consistent monitoring, we have seen a noticeable improvement across the board. Students are arriving more consistently, engaging in their learning, and taking greater ownership of their responsibilities, a fantastic shift that sets them up for future success.
In addition, our students have continued to deepen their understanding of academic rigour and what it means to be a senior learner. They have worked on building essential skills such as time management, responding thoughtfully to feedback, and producing work that meets high expectations. This ongoing development has reinforced the importance of independent learning and personal responsibility, qualities that will serve them well in any future academic or professional setting.
Another highlight of the term was the two-week work placement undertaken by many of our students. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with students reporting meaningful and enriching experiences in a wide range of industries. Many were able to build valuable relationships with prospective employers, and for several, this experience helped solidify or even shape their future career aspirations. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness the confidence and motivation students have gained from this real-world exposure.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. We look forward to a well-deserved break.
It has been a busy and productive term for our Year 11 cohort. They have been working hard towards achieving unit one credits for all their subjects as well as participating in a variety of college activities such as the Elevate incursions, interschool sport, subject excursions and Year 11 exams.
With unit one drawing to a close, students have already begun working through subject requirements for unit two. We have many exciting events for our cohort to look forward to upon return including our Celebration/Wellbeing Day, Year 11 formal, interschool sport and a variety of subject excursions that will enhance student learning.
Finally, on behalf of the Year 11 team, we would like to congratulate all students on a successful term 2 and would like to take this opportunity to wish our cohort a safe and enjoyable break.
