Senior Hoop Time

          HOOP TIME SENIOR ROUND ROBIN DAY            

Another week and another round of Hoop Time! This time it was our Senior students who competed. We had 3 teams compete in the Senior Hoop Time Round Robin Day at Dandenong Basketball Stadium. It was an exciting time as this was the first time ever that we entered an All-Star GIRLS only team.

Our 3 teams competed in 3 different sections – All Star Boys, All Star Girls, and Future Stars. As you may have guessed, yes there were games in which more than 1 team played. Luckily for me this time I had a past student, Will Aujard, help with the coaching of the All-Star Boys and he did a fabulous job.

All teams made it into the Semi Finals. Each team played their absolute best, and it was great seeing them play as a team and do all the things we talked about such as passing to each other, run ahead and rebounding. As with all finals there can only be one winner. The Future Star and All-Star Girls team played their best, but their day ended at this match. The All-Star Boys were fortunate enough to make it into the Grand Final.

The Grand Final game was tough! There were so many ups and downs. I was so proud of the boys as they left everything they had on the court. The hardest part was losing by 1 point. Despite the loss, the boys rallied around each other, with the help of family and friends, and were able to acknowledge what a great effort they all put in.

A HUGE thank you to all our parents and families who came along on the day to support the players and assist with scoring, as well as assist with transport on the day. Some even helped filling in with coaching as we went from court to court😊
