Djirri Djirri

Whitehorse were lucky to participate in the incursion by Djirri Djirri on Tuesday 4 June.

Djirri Djirri are the only Wurundjeri female dance group, and are Traditional Custodians of Narrm (Melbourne) and surrounds. Djirri Djirri means Willy Wagtail in Woiwurrung, their Mother Tongue. The Willy Wagtail is the Spirit’s Messenger and gave the people dance! The students enjoyed listening to the presenters, learning about their Indigenous Culture and then had the great opportunity to participate in the various dances.

National Reconciliation Week 2024

Now More than Ever

Students explored about what is meant by NOW MORE THAN EVER.

As a class, we explored ways in which we can strengthen our relationships and connections with Australia’s First Nations People.

Gardening Sessions

The gardening sessions have been both educational and fun! Engaging our students in hands-on activities like exploring the environment, collecting leaves, and using magnifying glasses to examine them fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for nature. The students produced some creative art work with their leaf drawings and even turned some of the leaves into garden bugs!
