Respectful Relationships Forum

On May 23rd, Deb Fisher and Steph Walsh proudly represented Chilwell Primary School at the 2024 Respectful Relationships Forum. Having served as a Lead School in the Barwon Area, our commitment to instilling the core values of the Respectful Relationships (RR) curriculum remains constant. The recent announcement by the Victorian Government of a four-year extension to the program underscores its importance.

During the forum, Genevieve Sheppard from Our Watch shared compelling statistics highlighting the prevalence of violence against women. However, amidst these sobering figures, it was evident that the RR program is at the forefront of catalysing change, with other regions of Australia expressing interest in its adoption.

Among the primary objectives is the challenge to dismantle entrenched gender stereotypes, a mission woven into the eight core topics of the RR curriculum. By addressing these themes comprehensively, Chilwell PS aims to cultivate an environment where outdated gender norms are replaced with inclusivity and respect.

The Respectful Relationships curriculum and overview is a Prep - Year 10 program and is available online for any parents wishing to obtain more information about the program.

Anaphylaxis Reminder

We have quite a few children who are allergic to a range of products, especially ‘nut products'.

We ask for your support and co-operation in avoiding nut products in your child’s lunch box.

In this way we can minimise the risk to these children who suffer life-threatening reactions.
