Kitchen Garden

The Apples worked together to add a layer of coffee grounds to the compost bins and shredded up cardboard for a 'brown' layer in the compost bins. 

The Beans were busy potting up seedlings. They used self-seeded spinach and silver beet that was coming up in one of the gardens. Everyone will get to take a punnet of seedlings home next week. 

The Pumpkins got creative, painting some large pots. 

The Corns planted a mixture of lettuce seedlings and washed and refreshed the water in the insect water bowls. 

The Herbs dug over the soil in one of the garden beds and planted potatoes. 

At the end of the session, we picked some fresh side shoots of broccoli and tasted crisp raw broccoli.
