Week 11, Term 2

Physical Education

 

PE - All

Due to a shortened week and modified timetable, only some classes will be receiving a Physical Education session. 

For students in Prep-Grade 2, we will be reviewing the fundamental movement skills taught throughout the term, through a selection of small group games and activities. 

Students in Grades 3-6 will continue to prepare for the upcoming House Athletics Carnival. They will practice long jump, shotput, discus and triple jump.

 

There will be no Sensory Gym classes this week. 

Visual Arts

Due to a shortened week and modified timetable, only some classes will be receiving a Visual Arts session. 

 

Prep – Grade 4

Students will complete a guided drawing of a wombat to link in with the current Aboriginal season we are in: Waring Wombat Season. They will learn how to create texture and blend colours with pastels.

 

Grade 5 and 6

Students will be creating a collage using Aboriginal inspired papers to display around the school advertising our Open Afternoon on Thursday. They will also choose a famous Aboriginal person and complete a paper weave using the contrast of black and white and colour images.

 

Performing Arts

Due to the curriculum day, a modified timetable will mean that not all classes will have Performing Arts this week.

 

🎵 Prep

Students will complete their class song based on one of the Wurundjeri 7 seasons. They will a practise the songs and actions that they will perform at the open afternoon. 

 

🎤 Grade 1 and 2

Students are continuing to explore the musical concept of 'melody'. They will identify the melody in music pieces and have the opportunity to sing and play short melodic phrases with tuned instruments. Students will also compose a short melody using their iPad.

 

🎶 Grade 3 and 4

Students are continuing to explore how their own ideas can be developed into dramatic action. They will use their understanding of the elements of drama from the term to complete the creative process they have been working through. They will have some time to rehearse their short drama piece, before performing it. 

 

🎭 Grade 5 and 6

Students are continuing to experiment with sharing stories in augmented reality. They will be using one of their 'Country' visual art pieces to inspire an audio story. This week, students will finish recording their stories and work on how they will digitally install their artwork and audio into the space.
