Careers Expo & Subject Selection Information Evening

A reminder to families that our annual Careers Expo and Subject Selection Information Evening is to be held on Thursday 27 June.

  • Attendance is compulsory for Years 10 - 12 students, including boarders.
  • Year 9, while not compulsory, are very welcome to attend.
  • Attendance is optional for Year 8, however strongly encouraged for subject selection advice.
  • Parents of all year groups are warmly invited to attend.

Boarding families are reminded that the Term 2 travel day is Friday 28 June. The school kindly requests families of Years 10 - 12 boarders not to request leave after school on Thursday 27 June.

The Expo and Subject Selection Information Evening runs from 5:30pm – 8:00pm.

The Careers Evening will feature representatives from major universities, university colleges, TAFE, Letslive (GAP Provider), Livebetter, and other tertiary industries. Additionally, the Derek Pigot Auditorium will host over 40 career and job options for our students to explore, including fields such as IT, Agriculture, Health, Trades, and Mining.

Subject Faculty representatives will be available for Subject Selection Q&A in the mezzanine area of the Derek Pigot Auditorium.

It’s a great opportunity for our students to begin exploring career pathways or to get more information on their existing career preferences.

Student Leadership Process

The selection process for next year’s school leaders has officially begun. Our school is committed to promoting and fostering servant leadership, encouraging students to lead with empathy, integrity, and a focus on serving others. This week, Year 11 students were briefed on the application process, highlighting the qualities we seek in our future leaders.

Comprehensive information on the application and selection process will be made available through The Hub. Students are encouraged to review the guidelines carefully and consider how they can contribute to our school community.

Applications must be submitted by 1:00pm Monday 22 July 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for students to step up, make a difference, and shape the future of our school. We look forward to seeing many passionate and dedicated candidates rise to the challenge.

Very best wishes to all of our families and friends for the forthcoming holidays. I look forward to catching up next term.
