Year 7 Humanities

Year 7 Science

As part of their studies of Forces, Year 7 students were given a “Top Secret Mission” to hep Jamie Bond design a parachute to keep track of where the baddies are! They used their knowledge of air resistance and gravity to design and test 3 parachutes of varying sizes. Their investigations helped them conclude that Jamie Bond should use a parachute with a large surface area, as this generates more air resistance which slows down the parachute’s decent.

Year 7 Poetry

Year 7 students have started a unit on poetry and as part of our exploration of metaphors, the 7I put together an ‘I am’ poem. Each student wrote a line of this poem, choosing a metaphor that represents an aspect of their personality. Ms. Boyd

7I ‘I am’ poem

I am the coffee that keeps you awake all day

I am your bedsheets, welcoming and warm

I am the leech that never lets go

I am the bandage for your scraped knee

I am the ending to your book

I am the saltwater in your wounds

I am the skibidi in your toilet

I am the knife when you get stabbed in the back

I am your mind on the last day of holidays

I am the candle that guides you through the dark

I am your bed when you wake up on a Monday morning and realise you have school

I am the ‘Skip Ads’ button

I am the ‘Play without asking’ button when Netflix asks ‘Are you still watching?’

I am the nail holding up the fence

I am the energy of the crowd lifting you high

I am the lighter to your flame

I am the catchy tune stuck in your head

I am the crackling lightning in a wild storm
