Year 9 Morrisby Career Assessments
Year 9 students completed the Morrisby Careers Assessment the last week of Term 2. There will be catchup sessions in Term 3 for students who were absent or did not fully complete the assessment.
Individual interviews to discuss the results of the assessment will be held with students in Term 3.
This is a valuable resource for students to help recognise skills and to explore various careers and pathway options.
University Open Days
Year 10 – 12 students have been sent an email with information regarding Open Days. We encourage any students considering university to attend at least one Open Day to explore courses, speak with lectures and students and to take campus tour.
VTAC Opens for
Year 12 students - July 29
It’s an exciting time for Year 12 students with VTAC application opening on Monday 29 July.
Students who are applying for post-secondary education at University or TAFE in 2025, will need to create an account by going to www.vtac.edu.au.
They can then select up to 8 course preferences and will be able to pay the administration fee online ($60).
Students are reminded to apply and pay by September 30 (5 pm) to avoid late fees ($150 for late applications and $195 for very late applications).
A webinar link will be provided to all students next term to learn about the application process and, lunchtime “help” sessions will be run for Year 12 students in Weeks 3 and 4 of Term 3.
Work Experience
Students from Years 10 to 12 (must be at least 15 years old) have the opportunity to undertake 'Work Experience' to develop their awareness of appropriate attitudes and behaviour in real work environments.
Work experience is intended to give students insights into industry and the workplace. It provides students with the valuable opportunity to explore career options and develop skills and make contacts with potential employers. Student placement with employers is primarily to observe and learn - not to undertake activities which require extensive training or expertise.
Work Experience at Lilydale High School can occur at any time within the school year (except for exam period) for between 5-10 days.
Any students wishing to complete work experience in building and construction trades or plumbing, will be required to complete a white card prior to approval of placement.
Students interested in completing Work Experience can see Mr Kogelman or Ms Skewes, who will inform them of the necessary processes and forms required to complete Work Experience.
