In our Integrated Studies this term, students are going to learn about the consequences of financial decisions encourages us to think critically about our options, and allows us to participate in the world of business and economics.
Students will investigate:
Students have learned about what is an occupation, key terminology when it comes to connections between occupations and impulsivity and when that's not managed well in an occupation.
Thomas and Trinity - Disability Carer. They need to manage their impulsivity because they might get angry or annoyed at the person their working with and hurt their feelings.
Shae and Taiden - Barista. They need to manage their impulsivity so they don't get angry at the customer, which means the customer won't return and the employee might get fired for that.
Fluency

Students have been working hard with improving their fluency, students are aiming to read with tone and rhythm with their new task. They have a text that they read in the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!
Found
Mentor text
Found is a text that has no words! We are exploring the importance of images in a picture story book. We watch these video books and dissect the imagines to infer what the story is about or what the character is experiencing. We found that the descriptive details in the imagines are important to solving what is happening.
We have started planning our own story with only pictures!
During the year, each term we have been running class challenges between 5/6A and 5/6B. We have had line challenges (setting up routine), tidiest class (responsibility), My Thinkings (academic) and this term we are playing games (team work). We will play all sort of games that cater to our students interests and prompt inclusivity.
Last Friday, we played hockey!
Final scores were
5/6A 2 - 5/6B 0
It was a great game, well done 5/6A!
