Grade 3/4 News

Literacy 

Our students have been working very hard on using quotation marks to create dialogue. Over the last couple of weeks, the students have revised what dialogue is , and why we use it.  Our students have been stretching their brains by learning how to correctly punctuate their dialogue as well. We will be using our mentor text, The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs, to explore dialogue in a fictional text. 

Numeracy

We have been exploring the concept of probability in class. The students have thoroughly enjoyed running chance experiments with dice and coins. Our students have been learning the meaning of impossible, unlikely, even chance, likely and certain. They have also been able to place events on a continuum  to say how likely these events are to occur. 

Integrated

Our students are very eager to start their stop motion projects. Students have selected a partner, and are beginning to start storyboarding their ideas.  Our students are working their way through a design process which teaches them how people in real life create our favourite cartoons and stop motions. We are very excited to see what they come up with!
