It's now heading into the final stretch of the year and students in the Year 1/2 learning community are really hitting their straps when it comes to how much growth they have shown (literally and figuratively)!
One aspect of learning we have been working hard on all year is our reading fluency. Every day, students practise reading to each other at a word level, sentence level, and paragraph level. This not only helps students to apply what they are learning in their phonics lessons, but it also helps to support positive reading behaviours and students' growing confidence in giving and receiving peer feedback.
All staff in the 1/2 learning community are so proud of the effort our students are putting into their reading and invite you to listen to your child read so you can share in the celebration of their reading growth! 📖
This week, students are attending Life Education sessions and exploring the topic of Safety, and where we can get help if we need it. There have been some wonderful discussions about times where we have helped others and when we have been helped, and there have been lovely comments from all students about how helping others makes them feel.
