Principal's Message

Term 4 - Week 3

Moving into the New Building!

The big reveal is almost here! We are thrilled to announce that our new learning spaces will soon be ready for our students, who have shown such patience during this transition.

Our dedicated teachers have been working hard to ensure a smooth move. Thanks to the temporary use of the 3/4 classrooms while those students are on camp, our professional packers have been able to box up the Foundation and Grade 1/2 classrooms in preparation for the move on Saturday.

On Monday, October 28th, from 9:00 – 11:30 AM, we will implement an alternative program for our Foundation and Grade 1/2 students, which has been communicated to families. This will give our teachers the necessary time to set up their new learning spaces in readiness for the students arriving at 12:30 PM.

We can’t wait to see the excitement on our students’ faces when they explore their new environments!

Thank you for your support during this exciting time!

Playground Access

Starting Monday, October 28th, the Junior Playground will be closed. To support our junior students during lunch and recess, we have implemented the following arrangements:

  • Access to the Courtyard and Web: Students can use these areas during break times.
  • Designated Oval Area: A section of the oval will be reserved exclusively for junior school students.
  • Hall Activities: The hall will be open during recess and lunch, featuring a variety of activities, including Just Dance for the next two weeks.
  • Grade 2 Access: Grade 2 students will have access to the senior playground.
  • Lunchtime Clubs: Our Lunchtime Clubs will continue to operate throughout the week.

We recognise that these changes may affect all students, and we will continually evaluate our approach to meet their needs. We are also excited to collaborate with our Year 6 leaders to implement new ideas and provide opportunities for them to lead activities and groups during lunchtime.

Bikes and scooters will need to be kept in the front courtyard (near Reception) until we gain access to the Bike Shed.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Attitudes to School Survey Results

The Attitudes to School Survey results for our Year 4-6 students has provided valuable insights into students’ perceptions and experiences of school. During our recent staff meeting, all teachers dedicated time to analyse the data, which is reported by cohorts and gender. This approach offers a snapshot, highlighting both areas of strength and those requiring further investigation.

One key area we're exploring is resilience—specifically, students’ ability to bounce back from challenges. We believe understanding this aspect is crucial for fostering a supportive learning environment. Additionally, we have shared the data with our 5/6 students, who worked collaboratively to share observations, wonderings, and recommendations based on the findings.

This collaborative effort not only empowers our students but also helps us identify actionable steps to enhance their resilience and overall school experience. We look forward to implementing strategies that arise from this dialogue and further supporting our students in their growth.

Camp ADANAC

With the sun shining, the fountain flowing, and hills in the distance, 3/4 Camp ADANAC has been an absolute blast! Our students and staff have filled the air with laughter and conversation.

Highlights of the camp included:

  • Flying Fox and Water Slide: Showcasing bravery and thrills!
  • Cage Soccer: A fantastic display of sportsmanship.
  • Camp Damper: Teamwork and collaboration in action.
  • Canoeing: New skills learned and fun had by all.

The conduct of our amazing students has received wonderful feedback from camp staff, who noted how supportive everyone has been of one another.

Our evening activities were equally exciting, featuring a disco, a night walk, and, of course, movie night!

A huge thank you to our incredible teachers and Education Support Staff for providing this fantastic experience for our students.
