OSHClub News

OSHClub News!

We have had a great start to term 4 at OSHClub with some warmer weather we have enjoyed the sunshine playing group games, some of our favourites are octopus, gaga ball, and football! We have been incorporating a wider range of meals for breakfast club and snack squad. The children enjoyed a version of Vegetarian butter chicken, baked potatoes, smoothie pops and croissants. On Wednesday this week we celebrated pasta palooza where we did all things Pasta! Making pasta to take home, pasta art and pasta jewellery!

We had a successful Friday Funday where we recycled some activity packs and craft packs for the children. The top hits were DIY kites, DIY cars and calm bottles!

Please make sure you book in advance so we can ensure enough resources for all!

We have some more Friday Funday's coming up, please see our flyers below!

Reminders

  • Please ensure that your child brings a hat to OSHC as we are now entering Term 4, we also have a hat tub where you may leave a hat with your child's name on it at OSHClub for future times.
  • We will also be providing children sunscreen, located by the main door.

Service Philosophy

You may have seen an email from us about our service philosophy, we are seeking family feedback to update our philosophy.  If you would like to add any comments to this philosophy, please inform us! We have a physical copy in the sign in/out area if you wish to add any comments there too!

At Mount Pleasant Road OSHClub, we provide a safe and stimulating free-play environment for the children in our care. We value children’s creativity, voice and self-agency and promote the developing independence and confidence of children as they continue to learn to ‘do things for themselves’ and learn to communicate confidently with those around them.

We seek to support children’s wellbeing by developing and maintaining warm and trusting relationships with them and their families. In our multi-age context, we aim to support children to create friendships through play that involves children outside of their year groups at school, fostering a sense of belonging and peer support at the program, while at school and beyond.

In our free-play environment we are in a unique position to observe and support children in their social development. In doing so, we support children to express their emotions positively, to develop their awareness of other’s points of view and to develop empathy. We use Restorative Practices as a strategy to resolve differences. Restorative Practice is also used at school. By using this approach, we are continuing to use language that children are familiar with.

At Mount Pleasant Road OSHClub, children’s voice informs planning and programming and becomes evident in the choices that are made daily. Children are the drivers of our program. Our planning is responsive and extends children’s understanding of themselves and the world through creative endeavour, social relationships, physical activity, and play.
