Fete
Excitement is growing amongst students and staff about our upcoming fete. It is always a wonderful day that the children enjoy immensely and is a fantastic way to further build connections with our school community.
Stall Rosters
All classes have now been allocated either one or two stalls to run on the day. A link to our online rosters will be sent out early next week. We hope all families are able to assist on their class stall for an hour or so.
Hampers
Attached is a list of the class hampers. Each class has been allocated a theme for their hamper (eg. Baking, BBQ, Books) and items donated will be packaged into lovely hampers to auction off at the Silent Auction. Each classroom has a basket for donations to be placed in. We would like all donations by 25th October.
Second Hand Donations
We will be starting our collections for excellent quality second hand toys and second hand books next week. Items can be brought to the entrance of the Gym each Tuesday and Thursday from 8.45am to 9.00am. Please note we are not doing general “Trash and Treasure” at this year’s Fete, just toys and books.
Jolly Jars
This week your child came home with a “Jolly Jar”. We are asking families to please fill their jar with items such as novelty toys, hair ties/clips, stationery items, wrapped lollies etc and return it to the office. Items for the Jolly Jars should be new, not second hand. The jars will then form a fun stall at our fete. There are some examples of Jolly Jars on display at the office if you are looking for inspiration.
Major Raffle
We have been working very hard to put together a fantastic raffle. We have several items we are sure you will love. Details on prizes and how to purchase tickets will be sent home very soon.
Wrist Bands
Unlimited ride wristbands will be available for purchase from next week. We will be offering two levels of wristbands: Mega Wristband for $45.00 and Junior Wristband for $35.00.
Full details of what each wristband includes and how to purchase them will be sent home next week.
Talent Show
An exciting part of Fete Day is our student Talent Show. Previously we have had dance performances, magic shows, comedy acts, musical items and much more. Rhiannon will be holding auditions in Drayton Hall at lunch time on Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November.
Donations
Soft Drink Cans and Small Prizes
Beginning next week, we will be asking for donations of 375ml soft drink cans (no bottles please) and lots and lots of small prizes for our Lucky Dip and games stalls. Prizes only need to be very small, such as high bounce balls, scrunchies, rubbers, stickers, bubbles, hair clips etc (Kmart and the local $2 shop are ideal for sourcing these items).
Chocolate Blocks
Wednesday 30th October will be “Bring a Chocolate Block to School Day” for our very popular “Chocolate Toss” game. Students are invited to wear free dress on this day as a thank you for all of your very kind donations.
There are many ways you can become more involved with our Fete – from plant growing, wrapping of hampers, helping with set-up the day before the Fete and much more . If you would like to become more involved, we warmly welcome any assistance you can offer. Please feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions.
