NEW MARKET GARDEN PROJECT WHAT AN AMAZING EFFORT

What a fabulous whole school effort we had last Thursday filling up the new garden beds with soil, spreading wood chips between the garden beds, and adding manure as well. The children did such a wonderful job and worked tirelessly to do their bit to complete this project.  The atmosphere as the children worked was very positive, with good teamwork, helpfulness, and lots of encouragement. Everyone was up for the challenge and we had lots of fun too!

Special thanks to teachers, TAs and Stan our volunteer helper, for their willingness to support this project.

In coming weeks we will be planting out these new garden beds with veggie plants that will be used for our School Lunch Program.

GUMBOOTS NEEDED

Do you have any children’s gumboots that you no longer need and would like to donate? We are keen to have a set of gumboots that our students can wear when they are doing gardening at school. If you have any gumboots that are in good condition that you would like to donate, please send them into our school office.

PARENT/GRANDPARENT VOLUNTEER HELPERS NEEDED

We are always doing some outdoor gardening activities each Thursday at our school. If you can spare a couple of hours to come in weekly, fortnightly, monthly we could sure use your help. We also have a new cooking program happening with the students, and volunteers are needed for that program as well.

If you can assist contact me (Luch) via my email: luch.brighella@catholic.tas.edu.au  or contact the school office on 6247 7104. Please ensure you have a current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
