From our Parents Commitee

Welcome back to Term 3, where once again we have lots of events planned!

Bastille Day / Paris Olympics: Next Friday we will jointly celebrate Bastille Day and the Paris Olympics. Please see the separate page on this event. We need volunteers on the day to assist with set-up and sales – a link to volunteer is on the separate Olympics/Bastille Day page.  A huge thanks to Maud Rocher for conceiving and planning this event.

PC Meeting: The next PC Meeting will be held on Friday, 2 August from 9 -10 in the staff room. All welcome. We will discuss events for term 3 and start planning the End of Year Party!

NAIDOC Week: Our Friday Treats sale for NAIDOC week last term raised $197 for VACCA who provide culturally appropriate out of home care for Aboriginal children in Victoria. The Parent’s Committee and CJC are proud to support the work that they do.

Father’s & Carer’s Day Breakfast and Stall: Our events for Father’s/Carer’s Day will be held on Friday, 30 August. Save the Date.

Second Hand Uniform Shop: We will announce the dates for the Term 3 sales shortly.

Child Safety: A reminder that all parents/carers who wish to volunteer at CJC must have a Working With Children Check – it is free for volunteers and you can apply online here: Working with Children Check (service.vic.gov.au)

General Matters

Friday Treats:   Over winter, we will sell pain aux chocolate ($4) from Reverie Café after school from 3.30pm until 3.45pm. Class roster for Term 3 will be circulated ASAP.

CJC Families Facebook Group: Did you know that we have a CJC Facebook Group called CJC Families?  The page is used to inform our community of CJC Events, sell 2nd hand uniform, find a babysitter and more. The page is private, and you must be a CJC community member and answer the questions to join.

EFM - Call for Volunteers: The EFM provides a range of francophone services to our CJC community, including running the ever-popular EFM after school activities. The EFM is looking for additional volunteers to support the management of these programs and other programs. Joining the EFM IS a great way to deepen your francophone connections at CJC and beyond. Please contact president@efm.org.au if you can assist.

Gardening Club:  We also have some interested parents who have established a CJC Parent Gardening Team to assist Madame Wilson’s STEM and Garden Program.  Contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com

Amy Pate – President, Julia Yuncken – Secretary, Anne-Sophie Aguado – Treasurer and Martine Inge – Head Convenor.
