Wellbeing
In Term Three, learners will continue to explore the concepts of Emotional Literacy, Gratitude and Empathy. Through The Resilience Project, we will discuss solutions to scenarios occurring in the classroom, during play time, in the home and the wider community. Students will engage with the process of thinking and applying different strategies to support them in moments of challenge and difficulty. Through explicit lessons around Friendship and Positive Play, learners will be encouraged to identify, name and share their emotions and consider how their reactions to each emotion can impact others.

How can you support your child’s Wellbeing learning at home?
- Emotions: Demonstrate labelling your emotions at different points in the day and explaining to your child the strategies you are using to help you feel in control of your emotion.
- Friendships: Discuss with your child strategies for making a new friend. Challenge yourself and your child to try and make a new friend one week. Share the strategies you used to make a new friend and how your challenge went. If successful, share how you felt! If unsuccessful, share how you can learn from this experience and why it is important to try again.
- Gratitude: Practise expressing gratitude together. At the end of the day share a gratitude moment and reflect on a time that you were grateful for during the day. Write a note to your child to express your gratitude to them and invite them to do the same for another person.
