Mrs Kathryn Searle - Head of Boarding
Greetings from Cambridge! The students are having a wonderful time and fully emerging themselves in the Cambridge Scholars’ Programme and its offerings. After a very long flight and a day of sightseeing to Windsor Castle and Oxford, students are now immersed in their classes and experiencing university life.
Thank you to Ms Kerr who is Acting Assistant Head of Boarding this term and also taking care of Year 9 and 10. Ms M has returned from leave on Wednesday, and we also thank Ms Holman for looking afters Year 5 to 8 during Ms M’s absence.
Boarding and International Student Officer, Christine Quist, Ms M (Years 5 to 8), Ms Kerr (Years 9 and 10), Ms Hay (Years 11 and 12), and weekend staff led by Ms King and Ms Holman, are always contactable on 0409 582 480 or by email: boarding@clayfield.qld.edu.au.
We are very excited to welcome another boy into boarding this week. Welcome to Dustin and his family to our community. Dustin and James will move into our new boys’ Turrawan Wing.
Thank you for supporting our boarders in completing the food survey at the end of last term. Feedback has been provided to Chartwells for action.
The main areas of concern appear to be morning tea and lunch offerings from the Café. These concerns were raised by nearly every boarder who completed the survey. There are other areas of concern which have been noted by a small number which will also be addressed.
Sadly Matt, our Head Chef, has resigned and left us last Friday. Our new Head Chef, Paul, will commence next Monday 29 July. Chartwells have advised Paul will be provided with the food survey upon his commencement. I will meet with him upon my return on 7 August to also go through with him.
